The East Woodstock Cornet Band
The
East Woodstock Cornet Band was founded by a joint Resolution of the
Connecticut House of Representatives
in 1893 and has performed
throughout northeastern Connecticut since that time. Performances are
sponsored by local organizations and are free and open to the public. Each
year the band marches in the traditional Memorial Day and 4th of July
parades, plays outdoor concerts in Woodstock and surrounding towns, and
provides music on stage for the Woodstock Fair on Labor Day weekend.
The East Woodstock Cornet Band
is under the
direction of Jeff
Kelleher.
Mr.
Kelleher received his Bachelor’s degree from Colby College in Waterville,
Maine and his Masters of Music degree in Music Education from the University
of Connecticut. He has been the band director at Brooklyn Middle School
since 1996 where, in recognition of his dedication
and professionalism, Jeff was selected as Brooklyn's Teacher of the Year for
2005.
